TFPYMIH quote explanation

“That there are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind.” This quote from The Five People You Meet in Heaven represents how each life is in some way connected to another and each action impacts someone in some way. To me, this quote symbolizes how each action reflects onto another person. Whether realized, or not, every action that you take effects another in some way. An example from The Five People You Meet in Heaven is whenever Eddie, the main character, burns down a shack in the war. Eddie hadn’t known at the time, but there was a little girl named Tala in the shack when he burned it down.  Tala was seeking refuge from the trauma that the war had caused. Eddie had killed Tala that day and immensely effected the life of Tala, her mother, her family, and many more. This shows an example of unique connections and impacts in other people’s life. Eddie was connected to Tala in a rather unique way and their connection effected many lives. The quote is represented by these unique connections to each individual and the unseen impacts made on their life.

The first part of the quote, “That there are no random acts.” In my opinion represents that no act is done randomly. Each action we take is done for a purpose, even if we may not know that purpose at the time. The quote then mentions, “That we are all connected.” This part of the quote explains how each action that we take effects another in some way such as Eddie burning down the shack effected Tala and her family. “That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind.” The final section of this quote insinuates that each action connects us to another who is connected to another. That everyone if they realize it, or not it connected to each other in some way. The quote explains our flawlessly planned actions and our unique connections to one another.
